32.5 hours per week

Salary - Scale C Point 5 actual salary £19,877 (Full time annual salary £26,427)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our amazing Specialist Resource Base team.

We have a ten place SRB unit, for pupils with SEND needs. Our goal is to support them to be able to take part in mainstream classes as much as possible.

By working in the base, you will get the chance to develop your skills and knowledge for supporting pupils with SEND, through the skill of the team in school, and with the wider SRB teams for Norfolk County Council and our specialist partners. By supporting the pupils into mainstream, you will also gain experience working within mainstream primary provision.

We need a passionate and determined Welfare Assistant to work with our wonderful pupils in our SHIP SRB.

You will:

Under the direction of teaching staff/leadership or higher level teaching assistants, to assist with the care of individual or groups of pupils.

Be a kind, caring person.

Have experience or interest in working with children with different learning needs, particularly experience of working with children with SEND.

Have patience and resilience when dealing with children who demonstrate challenging behaviours.

Have excellent communication skills.

Be able to work individually and as part of a team.
