The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coach/Teaching Assistant to work in a school in the Manchester area. This dual role combines your passion for sports with the opportunity to support pupils’ learning and development. You’ll inspire young people through physical activity while assisting teachers in creating a positive and engaging school environment. This is a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and support sports sessions, and extracurricular clubs, promoting fitness and teamwork
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, including those with additional needs, in the classroom
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management, and preparing resources
• Encourage a love for physical activity and healthy lifestyles among students of all abilities
• Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, helping pupils build confidence and social skills
• Work with school staff to monitor progress and contribute to pupils’ educational and personal growth
What we are looking for
• Experience in sports coaching or working with young people in an educational or community setting
• A relevant qualification in Sports Coaching, Physical Education, or Childcare (e.g., Level 2/3) is a plus but not essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with pupils, staff, and parents
• An energetic, patient, and adaptable approach, with a passion for supporting children’s development
