About the role
Stephenson Academy provides education for students both male and female aged between 11 and 16 years. We are the local SEN provision for students with social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). We pride ourselves on delivering a high quality curriculum, truly individualised to meet the needs of our students, ensuring successful outcomes for all. We have a cohort of staff who are from all walks of life which has created a truly dynamic and diverse team.

We are seeking:
- A friendly, welcoming and professional person who will provide an excellent first point of contact for students, parents, visitors and staff
- An organised and reliable administrator who can manage a varied workload and prioritise tasks effectively
- A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, both face-to-face and over the telephone
- Someone who can work calmly and professionally in a busy school reception environment
- A person with excellent attention to detail who can maintain accurate records and handle confidential information appropriately
- Someone who is confident using IT systems and has a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- A team player who is willing to support colleagues and contribute positively to the wider life of the Academy
- Someone who understands the importance of safeguarding and is committed to promoting the welfare of children and young people
- A flexible and proactive individual who is able to respond positively to the changing needs of a busy school environment
The successful candidate will:
- Manage the Academy reception, welcoming and directing visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Deal with telephone calls, emails and general enquiries
- Provide administrative support to staff and the wider Academy
- Maintain accurate records and databases
- Assist with student attendance and absence administration
- Support the organisation of meetings, appointments and Academy events
- Process correspondence and maintain effective filing systems
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times
- Follow Academy procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety and security
