Pudsey Sixth Form College are seeking a High Needs Team Leader to join our team.
This role requires an experienced SEND professional to lead on the placement and support of students with Educational Health Care Plans at our Pudsey Sixth Form campus. You will be an operational main point of contact with parents and curriculum staff, make a contribution towards positive outcomes for disadvantaged and vulnerable students, and hold responsibility for contributing to statutory documentation and processes.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage the growing High Needs team at Pudsey Sixth Form to ensure high-quality support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Work collaboratively with schools, families, health professionals, and social care services to achieve positive outcomes.
- Manage and resolve escalated issues effectively.
- Prepare reports, analyse data, and present recommendations to senior management relating to provision for High Needs students.
- Monitor provision delivery and quality, and introduce continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and service transformation projects.
- Promote inclusive practices and advocate for the needs of children and young people with High Needs.
About You
- Level 5 teaching qualification or relevant SEND / Learning Support related qualification, or willingness to work towards.
- English and Mathematics at Level 2 or above.
- Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of current Government SEND legislation and guidance related to transition, education, social care and health.
- Extensive and proven experience of working with students with an EHCP and the implementation of appropriate support strategies.
- Experience of multi-agency partnership working and stakeholder engagement with families, schools, and professionals.
- Experience in provision monitoring and quality assurance via data-informed reporting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, policy implementation, and continuous service improvement, including budget and resource management.
