Are you passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential? Bristol Academy South is seeking an exceptional Head of Year 11 to lead pastoral support during this crucial stage of students' education. You will drive high standards of attendance, behaviour and wellbeing, working closely with students, families and staff to ensure every learner is supported to succeed in their examinations and secure a positive post-16 destination. The role offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on student outcomes, champion aspiration and resilience, and help shape an outstanding Year 11 experience.

Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Year 11 cohort, promoting high standards of behaviour, attendance and achievement.
- Monitor and support student progress, ensuring timely interventions are in place where needed.
- Work closely with staff, parents and external agencies to support student wellbeing and success.
- Coordinate and oversee Year 11 pastoral support, guiding students through key examination periods and post-16 transition.
- Champion a positive and inclusive culture, fostering aspiration, resilience and excellent outcomes for all students.
Pay range: SCP23 - 26 - £33,691.32 - £36,476.04 - FTE: £35,570.00 - 38,510.00 - 37 hours per week & 42 weeks per year
Qualifications and Skills:
- Educated to GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Experience of working successfully with young people in an educational, pastoral or support setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families and staff.
- Ability to analyse information, monitor student progress and implement effective interventions.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to improving attendance, behaviour and student outcomes
