Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.
At Wodensborough Ormiston Academy, we believe that every young person deserves an outstanding education that inspires curiosity, ambition and success. You will lead the development of an ambitious and engaging History curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4, driving high standards of teaching, learning and achievement. Through strong leadership, effective use of data and a commitment to continuous improvement, you will help ensure every student can thrive, regardless of their starting point.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong subject knowledge and a proven track record of securing excellent outcomes in History.
- The ability to lead, inspire and develop colleagues, creating a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Experience of using assessment and performance data to raise achievement and close attainment gaps.
- A consistently strong teaching record and a commitment to delivering engaging, inclusive lessons that motivate all learners
We are a popular and oversubscribed 11-16 mainstream school with the additional expertise and facilities to include two focused SEND provisions for young people on the autistic spectrum, and for those who are deaf and hearing impaired (ARC and Deaf Academy). Our small and bespoke sixth form (WOA6) caters for students in Years 12 and 13 who have EHCPs. Rooted in our vision — Believe, Achieve, Succeed — we are uncompromising in our commitment to high expectations, inclusive education, and transforming life chances for young people in Sandwell.
