The Role
We are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to work in Secondary schools across Liverpool. As a Cover Supervisor, you will step in to manage classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task with pre-set work. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate to gain valuable classroom experience while making a positive impact in a dynamic school environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, delivering pre-prepared lessons to pupils
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a productive and respectful learning environment
• Support pupils in completing their work, offering guidance and encouragement as needed
• Follow school policies and procedures to ensure consistency and safeguarding standards are met
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson progress and any issues encountered
• Adapt quickly to different subjects, year groups, and school settings across Liverpool
What we are looking for
• A recognised Degree qualification (in any subject) – essential for this role
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with pupils and staff effectively
• Confidence in managing groups of young people and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is advantageous but not required
