About the role
Working closely with all staff and the Senior Leadership Team, you will:
- Work with staff to create and maintain an emotionally safe and trauma informed environment.
- Provide focused support for individual pupils to help them overcome barriers to learning.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, helping them develop strategies to regulate their emotions and behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the support they need.
- Monitor pupils' progress and contribute to support plans and reviews.
- Support and coordinate transition processes for pupils
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of working with children or young people, particularly those with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs or challenging behaviour.
- Is calm, patient, and able to build positive relationships based on trust and respect.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is committed to inclusion and believes every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.
- Can work effectively as part of a supportive and dedicated team.
- Has a proactive approach to promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Values teamwork, humour, and mutual support
